Joe Wathen Bio
I have been real estate consultant with RE/MAX Advantage Realty since 1995 and have been in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame since 2007 and have had many annual awards of 100% Club. I have won the Platimum Club award in 2014. While with RE/MAX Advantage Realty, I worked with a large team from 2010 to 2013, then realized I could offer more on my own.
I believe that exceptional and professional service providers, separate themselves from the rest of the group, not only by sheer knowledge and marketing know-how, (those are a given), but by the personal attention and focus they provide their clients. Personal attention that comes from the one on one interaction and attention not only at the time the listing is taken, but throughout the transaction. The only way I can be satisfied that the optimum service is given and I am able to guarantee my performance, is when I am personally involved, tending to every detail, and guiding you, my clients, through the maze of complications arising with any given transaction. It is the reason that my clients have been repeatedly using my services for over 24 years, and refer my services to their friends, family and colleagues with confidence! My clients want to hear from me, they want to know what is happening with their transaction from me, and they have hired me because they trust ME! And it is up to me, and not anyone else on any team, to provide what my clients have hired me to do.
I have helped thousands of people move since being licensed as a Realtor in 1988 having served Howard County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Harford County, Montgomery County, Frederick County, Anne Arundel County and Prince Georges County in Maryland.
I have earned the GRI (Graduate, REALTORS Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designations of which less than 2% of all agents nationwide have earned, and the ABR (Acredited Buyer Representative) and have been a member of the By Referral Only Real Estate Institute which is designed to help agents increase their quality of service.
Prior to Real Estate, I worked for companies in the Fortune 500 group such as 3M/Lanier and Dictaphone, where he was trained in marketing and sales. These skills have come to serve me and my clients with great quality and efficiency.
I am a member of Residential Sales Council, have served on several boards for the Howard County Jaycees, and have served on several boards raising money for the Childrens' Miracle Network. I am also a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
My hobbies include golf, skiing, mountain biking, hiking and Chinese Martial Arts.
I grew up in Ellicott City and currently live in the neighborhood of Brampton Hills with my wife and son, our dogs, and 2 cats. Having lived in Howard County my entire life, I have many ties to the community and a long standing business reputation.
I am personally supporting the Epilepsy Foundation, and the American Diabetes Association. The Epilepsy Foundation provides programs and services, while funding research to find better treatments options and a cure for the nearly 3 million Americans living with epilepsy and their caregivers. My wife, Susan has epilepsy and diabetes and together it is our mission to help raise much needed awareness. If you would like to join our efforts, please contact me directly for further information.
